As the Lead Designer you will be responsible for creating our company brand assets, collaborating with our marketers to strategize and design ad campaigns, work side by side with developers, design logos and responsive websites, and mentor any future designers.
Ascend was founded in 2015 by two old friends, Chad and Steven–both veterans of the digital marketing industry, who are driven by a passion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and storytelling. Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to development.
Create graphics, logos, banners, landing pages, website designs and any other creative assets required by a project, or the business.
Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks.
Collaborate on wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site-maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
Be a thought leader - Maintain a solid grasp of digital trends, emerging technologies and how consumers use them, marketing trends, and industry dynamics. Be a design trendsetter.
Occasionally write a blog article relative to the business / agency industry.
Participate in client kickoff meetings to help guide and steer creative conversations.
Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders.
Participate in client discovery processes such as customer and online research.
Help refine and organize our creative process to be more streamlined, efficient, productive, and creative.
We’re looking for a designer who is able to wield the power of design to solve problems, create great experiences, and ignite the senses.
At least two years of agency (or similar) experience.
3-5 years of overall design experience, and a great portfolio of work.
Demonstrated expertise in illustrator, must have experience creating unique logos.
Solid leadership and collaboration skills. The ability to take direction, give direction, and collaborate with leadership, marketing, and development teams.
Strong conceptual thinking, built upon a nuanced and empathetic understanding the target audience.
You enjoy interacting with coworkers and customers.
You’re committed to producing amazing work, even when the client doesn’t like your first idea.
Ability to lead creative discovery sessions and bring out the best in people and projects.
Your web designs are always backed by great UX.
Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
You are outgoing and unfazed by presenting your work in front of people.
Extensive experience with the Adobe Suite, and a plus if you have experience in Sketch.
